The sixth beatitude. Heart purity and married
The beatitudes
The beatitudes are the core of The mountain speech (Matthew5,1-12). Jesus introduces the Gospel of the Reign adressing to poors, and to the who is abandoned by everybody but loved by God. The poverty, the suffering, the injustice and the pain threaten human existence, and men can’t defend or avoid them. God helps poors and abandoned and to who has nothing on this earth he gives the Heaven. In the Heaven there won’t be tears and miseries but only life and endless joy for who will enjoy God’s eternal happyness.
The beatitudes are blessings, and beatitudes are God’s promises. God blesses poors: To who has never recived good news because of their straits he says loving words. It’s not a wish, his word is all powerful. He makes right what he says. With the same omnipotence employed to create the world at the beginning, now he prepares a loving world for the poors. The beatitudes are promises made by God to the poors, distressed, oppresses and to everybody is suffering.
Jesus introduces the things God is going to realize for men destroyed by need. One is not blessed because now on Earth we are lacking in everything - which is a reason for pain- but God prepares a future of hope for the poor, therefore one is blessed (Jeremiah29,11). This is what Jesus says to the disciples :<< Do not be afraid, little flock, for your Father has been pleased to give you the kingdom>> (Luke 12, 32)
Beatitudes have two kind of dimension, the worldly and eschatological one. God realizes his promises in a part of time but he relizes them completely during the eternity. Now he realizes the beatitude in the hope, but in the end he will realize it into reality. The overconfidence of the fulfilment fill up of joy, and let us face the current difficulties, standing everyday life in order to achieve eternal happyness. The beatitudes are hopeful words for who suffers, thay should avoid that men dismiss theirselves. Men have to live waiting for God who will complete, for all of us, the good things he talks about into the Blisses that are blessings for the man, piligrim of the time.
Heart purity
«Blessed are the pure in heart, for they will see God» (Matthew 5,8). In the human speech and fin the biblical one the heart is one person core. It is the place where everyone find himself and his own identity, and takes important decisions. It’s the place where people decide about themselves and about the ralationship between themselves and other people, the world and God. A good heart makes good the whole man, a bad heart makes him bad.
In the bebate about purity and impurity Jesus says that external and material things do not make a man impure. This was what Pharisees thought, they had a materialistic conception of purity. They thought that purity was the same of cleanliness, for this reason they made a lot of ritual washes. Therefore they believed that some kind of food were impure, than they avoid to eat them and they forbid them to other people. Nowdays Jewish and muslim don’t eat pork meat and other kind of food.
Jesus says that purity is inner and spiritual. Things that corrupt and make us impure are not material, but it’s the sin that does it. It’s not what comes from outside, but it’s what is inside a man that corrupts and damages and rules human behaviour << nothing that enters a man from the outside can make him 'unclean For it doesn't go into his heart but into his stomach. "What comes out of a man is what makes him 'unclean.'21 For from within, out of men's hearts, come evil thoughts, sexual immorality, theft, murder, adultery, greed, malice, deceit, lewdness, envy, slander, arrogance and folly>> (Mark 7,18.20.22).
Human wishes and good actions come from internal and spiritual dimension, from his soul and from his heart. If they are bad actions they will corrupt the whole man because he has a bad core, the internal place where he wishes and desires the evil; and he is bad outside where he has bad relationship with the others. And so the heart, that is the core of a person, can define the whole one.
The heart is a kind of source from which everything comes out. If this source is good, everything comes out of it will be good, but if it is degraded everything will be corrupted. Jesus says: <<For out of the overflow of the heart the mouth speaks>>. Everyone takes out what he has inside, and then "The good man brings good things out of the good stored up in him, and the evil man brings evil things out of the evil stored up in him (Matthew 12,34-35). The heart has to be pure, good and generous in order to have good thing all life long. The heart is the the source of love. That’s why we Love the Lord our God with all your heart 'Love your neighbour as yourself " (Matthew 22,37-40). Heart purity stays in love purity and love is pure when it is real. It has to be not only honest but free from selfishness.
Blessed are the pure in heart, for they will see God.
Let’s try to know in a better way the bliss: <<Blessed are the pure in heart, for they will see God>> We have seen that purity is something that is inside the heart, where everyone meet the other in the truth. Neighbour’s love need honest and not false relationships. That’s the reason why selfishness is the first thing opposed to purity the second one is the lie. A person who misleads the others in order to obtein what he wants, has impure intentions and actions. Purity concernes that unic and special people emotional relationship. Purity concernes love.

Love between two people has to be real and true, than it is pure. The love loves, it loves the other and wants this person has love, that’s why it gives itself to the other and it’s ready to recieve the love by the other. With this generous gift love forget about itself and it sacrifices itself for the loved person. This is the true and pure love. If someone finds himself and does something out of self-interest and uses the loved person, his love is false. Heart purity is then love purity that loves into reality and truth. Who loves truly gives himself with generosity and welcomes the other with respect and gratitude.
Many aspects of human and spiritual love have been analyzed deeply by the Pope Benedict XVI in his first encyclical Deus caritas est of the 25th of December 2005. After he has explained the meaning of the two greek terms used to indicate love, eros and agape, he ancourages averybody to persist in loving God and our neighbours. <<Love is possible, and we are able to practise it because we are created in the image of God. To experience love and in this way to cause the light of God to enter into the world—this is the invitation I would like to extend with the present Encyclical>>. (n. 39). It’s possible to love in a true way, we just need to start it.
Marital love purity
Heart purity concernes every interpesonal relation in wich, affective dimension is involved. It is possible to talk about love for our parents, for our brothers or friends. But married love is a special, intense, inmost and all involving bond in which a man and a woman love each other heart and soul, totally and forever.
Marital love is an internal fact that shows it through the body. A person intimity where each one welcomes the other in an exclusive way is shown and relized into body intimity, where the sexual union shows and realizes the reciprocal and complete gift between man and woman. Purity it’s not only an heart affaire or something internal but it concernes even human body end sexuality. It is possible to find truth and autenticity in the sexuality, or even lies and selfishness; when there is the truth there is even purity in the love, when there is selfishness there is impurity.
Who loves in a pure way can control sexuality and so the pleasure’s search can convey and realize the interpesonal marital love. In the marriage the married love realizes itself in the sexual union. The man and the woman bring together their bodies into sexual intimity since they have put together their lives in the eternal love. But if sexuality looks for pleasure without love so it is corrupted by selfishness and bad interests and then it is impure.
